Warm autumn spell in Latvia to continue, forecasters say
Forecasters expect less precipitation than usual for autumn in Latvia this week and next, with daytime highs of +8 to +13 degrees. On some afternoons temperatures may reach +16.

Latvia is set for a fairly warm and dry autumn over the next two weeks, forecasters say. Rain is expected at times this week and next, but overall precipitation will be lower than is typical for the season, and air temperatures will mostly stay higher than usual for October and November.
Light winds and fog
Weather will often be shaped by an area of high pressure, while cyclone activity, which usually brings wind and precipitation, will be low. As a result, winds will on average be light. As skies clear, fog will form in many places during the night and morning hours, and in some areas it will take a long time to lift.
Night and daytime temperatures
Minimum temperatures will depend on cloud cover. On some nights under clear skies the thermometer may fall slightly below zero in places, while cloudy nights will mostly not be colder than +6 to +11 degrees. The warmest weather will remain along the coast.
During the day the air will warm to +8 to +13 degrees, and on a few of the sunnier afternoons temperatures may reach +16 degrees.
Outlook for the coming weeks
According to data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, precipitation in Latvia over the coming weeks will be below normal or close to it. Air temperatures are mostly expected to be higher than is usual for October and November.
In short, autumn shows no sign of sharp changes for now: there will be rain, but less than normal, winds will mostly be light, and fog may appear in places at night and in the morning.
