This autumn, the SPĒKA SPEKTRS Rucking Series and Preparedness Festival return to Latvia. The first event is scheduled for September 26 in Carnikava, followed by the second on November 14 in Smiltene. These events blend hiking, sports challenges, community spirit, and practical knowledge useful for everyday adventures and emergencies.

Rucking involves walking with a backpack carrying extra weight. Depending on the chosen format, it can be a leisurely hike or an intense fitness workout. The term "rucking" originates from English and is linked to "rucksack," which historically comes from German words for back and bag.

Participants can choose between two classes: the People's Class, designed for a relaxed hike and socializing, or the Sports Class, a true athletic challenge with set distances and time limits.

The first 200 registrations for each event are available at an early bird price. More information and registration can be found at www.spekaspektrs.lv.
