Ryanair to close baggage check-in desks 60 minutes before departure from 10 November
Low-cost airline Ryanair will close baggage check-in desks 60 minutes before departure at all airports serving its flights from 10 November, instead of the current 40 minutes.

Low-cost airline Ryanair will close its baggage check-in desks 60 minutes before scheduled departure from 10 November, at all airports that serve its flights. Until now, the desks have closed 40 minutes before a flight. The change affects passengers flying with the carrier who check in luggage.
The airline says the new rule is meant to give passengers more time to get through queues before the flight, including security screening and passport control.
According to Ryanair's press office, the change should also help further reduce the number of passengers who miss their flights because of delays at security checks or passport control. The airline describes that number as already small.
Ryanair says 80% of its passengers do not check in any baggage. For them, the new deadline for baggage desks is not directly relevant to trip preparation.
Passengers who plan to check in luggage should take the new deadline into account when planning their trip to the airport, since baggage can no longer be dropped off once the desk has closed.
