Summer Games Done Quick 2026 Speedrunning Marathon Begins
The week-long speedrunning event Summer Games Done Quick kicks off on July 5 in Minneapolis, streaming live on Twitch and later on YouTube. All proceeds go to Doctors Without Borders, with last year raising over $2.4 million.

This Sunday, July 5, marks the start of the latest Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ 2026), a week-long round-the-clock speedrunning marathon. Speedrunners will gather once again in Minneapolis to tear through games for charity.
The entire event will be streamed live on Twitch, with VODs available on YouTube for those who miss specific runs. Following a preshow at 12:30 PM ET, the action begins at 1 PM with a 102% run of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong-Quest.
Several games are making their GDQ debut this year, including Don't Stop, Girlypop!, Super Meat Boy 3D, Pragmata, Resident Evil: Requiem, Unbeatable, Mouse: PI for Hire, and Saros. Highlights include a pinball showcase featuring Total Nuclear Annihilation and the Gordon & Daxter run—a modded version of Jak & Daxter where players control Gordon Freeman with Half-Life weapons and movement. A Super Mario Maker 2 race is also on the schedule.
As always, SGDQ raises funds for Doctors Without Borders. Last year's edition collected over $2.4 million for the organization.
