Quad bike accident in Saldus region leaves driver dead, passenger injured

A man born in 1968 died after losing control of a quad bike in Zaņas parish, Saldus region, on Monday evening. The passenger was injured and received medical treatment.

On Monday, June 22, at 20:11, a traffic accident occurred in Zaņas parish, Saldus region, resulting in the death of a male driver born in 1968. According to the State Police, the quad bike driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn.

The passenger in the accident sustained injuries and received medical assistance. No further details about the passenger's condition have been released.

During the past 24 hours, a total of 117 traffic accidents were registered across the country, in which 11 people were injured and one person died. The fatality was the aforementioned quad bike driver.

In the field of traffic enforcement, 613 administrative decisions were made. Of these, 256 were for speeding and four for aggressive driving. Additionally, four criminal proceedings and five administrative proceedings were initiated for driving under the influence of alcohol.
