Samsung's P9 microSD Express memory card, which works with the Nintendo Switch 2 gaming console, has been discounted at several US retailers, including Amazon and B&H Photo. Tech outlet The Verge reported the deals on October 26, 2026. The discount may interest console owners who are running short on storage for games.

Prices

The 256GB version currently costs $47.99, while the 512GB model is $99. The smaller card typically sells for around $80, and the larger one usually goes for $150 to $200. Even so, both cards cost more than their original launch prices, which the outlet suggests is likely due to the ongoing memory shortage.

Speed and compatibility

The P9 offers sequential read speeds of up to 800MB/s. Only devices with a microSD Express card slot can take full advantage of that speed, such as certain cameras, tablets and drones.

Game sizes

Nintendo's own Switch 2 games generally take up 10 to 30 gigabytes. The upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is 27GB. Games from other publishers can be larger still; Cyberpunk 2077 takes up 60GB.

Until recently, the Switch 2 was one of the few devices that used the faster microSD Express standard. This year the Asus ROG Ally X20, an expensive handheld gaming device running Windows 11, has also added support for it.
