Moldovan President Maia Sandu expressed full solidarity with Germany on social media platform X after Berlin officially accused Russia of involvement in a drone incident at Leipzig airport.
Sandu said attacks like the one in Leipzig are designed to test Europe's boundaries and weaken support for Ukraine. She noted that Russia applies the same tactics across the entire continent, and argued that Europe must respond in a united way and act proactively rather than merely reacting after the fact.
Germany's response
On September 1, Germany directly accused Russia of a hybrid attack at Leipzig airport and announced retaliatory measures, including closing Russia's consulate general in Bonn and the so-called "Russian House" in Berlin.
Ukraine's ambassador to Germany, Oleksii Makeiev, said Kyiv is already actively cooperating with Berlin to help Germany counter Russian sabotage.
