San Francisco police located the submerged wreckage of the Volare, a 49-foot cabin cruiser that capsized on Wednesday afternoon. The vessel was found near the area where it sank, resting on the rocky seabed at a depth of 120 feet. The marine unit initially used sonar to detect the wreck and is now deploying a remotely operated vehicle to assess the condition and determine if it can be safely recovered.

The body of Tondra Madruga, 58, was recovered by the marine unit on Thursday and identified by the medical examiner. Madruga, also known as Tondra Miller, was among three people missing after the sinking. Her remains were discovered in the bay near Treasure Island after a boater reported them. The Coast Guard suspended its search on Wednesday evening, but police continue to look for the two other missing individuals.

The boat was carrying 20 people who were gathering to scatter the ashes of a loved one. It was struck by a wave and capsized, throwing passengers into the cold water. One man, Clifford Boisa, died after being pulled from the water. The remaining passengers were rescued by good Samaritans and first responders.

Ralph Boisa explained that the group included extended family and close friends celebrating the life of his daughter, who had died over a decade ago. Madruga was a friend. The two people still missing are Ralph Boisa's sister, Carol, and Clifford Boisa's wife, Jackie.

Family member Quin Madruga posted on Facebook, expressing heartbreak over the loss and gratitude for support. The search covered more than 800 square miles, including open ocean beyond the Golden Gate Bridge, due to strong currents in the bay.
