A Latvian woman living in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, has described an unusual scene she saw in morning traffic while taking her children to school. She posted about it on the social network Threads, and other users responded with comments about how drivers spend time stuck in traffic.

The author of the post says she has been driving for 18 years but was still taken by surprise this time. The school was 14 minutes away, and traffic crawled along slowly. According to her, the driver of the car beside her spent that entire time carefully tidying his hairstyle with a hair clipper, actively cutting his hair down to a very short length.

Similar observations from the US

Another commenter recalled living in the United States for a year, 17 years ago. She wrote that traffic jams there are a big deal, and that a wide variety of scenes could be seen on the roads in the morning: people shaving, putting on makeup or taking hair rollers out. According to her, it was normal to see someone in pajamas with rollers in their hair rushing out for a «french vanilla» coffee drink. She added that people in traffic also got dressed, changed clothes and sang opera, and that such free time can be used productively.

Other users' reactions

Another commenter compared the situation to a scene from a popular British comedy series, writing that it reminded them of Mr. Bean going to the dentist. Yet another user admitted that the post made their shoulders and forehead start to itch.

The source mentions no particular consequences: the post and comments concern everyday observations made in traffic.
