The popular Latvian cooking show "Dr. Sirmais", fronted by chef Mārtiņš Sirmais, is returning for its fourth season. This time the format shifts slightly: Sirmais will reunite with guests who already visited him in earlier seasons, revisiting what they learned during their first "consultation".

A second visit to the doctor

During these follow-up meetings, the chef and his guests will discuss how useful the earlier advice turned out to be and test whether the guests' cooking skills have improved since then. This season's episodes focus on holiday menus, with Sirmais offering practical tips and tricks for breakfast, lunch and dinner that will be useful not only to the celebrity guests but also to viewers at home. Special attention will also go to choosing ingredients and cooking meals in cheaper, smarter ways.

Celebrities returning for a second visit to Dr. Sirmais this season include Ansis Klintsons, Ainars Bumbieris, Liene Šomase, Edgars Bāliņš, Edgars Masaļskis, Emīls Balceris, Juris Kaukulis, Kristians Kareļins and Jēkabs Rēdlihs, among other guests.

New topics and recipes

The new season will present fresh interpretations of familiar dishes, while digging deeper into how different ingredients and spices pair together. Particular focus will fall on breakfast egg recipes as well as cold and hot sauces, which are often underused in everyday cooking. The show will also explore how to successfully combine cheese with vegetables and how to balance vegetable portions in daily meals — vegetables will play an especially important role this season, covering both preparation methods and how they work together. Classic Latvian dishes will also feature, including chicken, minced meat and pork dishes, as well as fish recipes.
