Selina's ex-fiancé Krišjānis says he has blocked her on social media after their split

Krišjānis, a former contestant on the reality TV show "Saimnieks meklē sievu" (the Latvian version of Farmer Wants a Wife), has revealed in an interview with the magazine Privātā Dzīve that he has blocked his ex-fiancée Selina. In the show, farmers look for life partners, and Selina is a familiar face to viewers from several seasons. In the current season she is building a relationship with a farmer named Oskars.

Krišjānis and Selina met during filming in the summer of 2023. Selina had originally applied to be the bride of another farmer, Jānis, and Jānis did take a liking to her. During a romantic trip, however, it emerged that her heart already belonged to Krišjānis.

Wedding plans and the breakup

In autumn 2023, when Krišjānis was 36 and Selina 21, the couple announced that a wedding date had been set and that they were ready to marry in haste. In summer 2024 they said the wedding had been postponed to summer 2025 because they could not agree on the format of the ceremony. The couple split in winter 2024.

In his interview, Krišjānis says their disagreements began when it was time to plan a shared future, including the wedding. The plan had been ready, but Selina suddenly decided she wanted a different kind of wedding.

Looking back

Krišjānis recalls that after the breakup his friends told him he was finally back, as he had been completely "zombified". Even so, he says he enjoyed that time. He compares the relationship to intoxication: it feels good while it lasts, but the consequences come later. A year and a half after the split announcement, he regards it as an adventure to remember in old age.

Krišjānis says he is not usually someone who blocks ex-girlfriends on social media, but Selina is an exception: "I have blocked her."

He continues to enjoy bachelor life and does not rule out returning to a farmer show in his later years, calling it a good way to meet people. Selina, for her part, soon after the split set her sights on another farmer, Oskars, though on screen their relationship is not going as smoothly.
