Manchester City to be without injured Semenyo for about two months
English club Manchester City will be missing Ghana international Semenyo until around December after he was hurt in a Premier League match against Ipswich. Coach Maresca said the injury is less serious than first feared.

English football club Manchester City will have to do without Ghana international Semenyo for roughly two months after he picked up an injury in a Premier League match against Ipswich. Coach Maresca said the player is not expected to return until about December, without giving details of the nature of the injury.
Semenyo was hurt in Saturday's game, having come on as a substitute in the 77th minute. The club initially believed the problem was more serious. Maresca explained that after more detailed examinations on Sunday, the team feels better, because the injury is not as severe as they had feared.
Concern over Haaland
Semenyo's absence limits the coach's options if he needs to replace Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, should Haaland be injured or require rest. That situation could arise as early as Tuesday, when City face AEK Athens in the UEFA Champions League, Europe's top club competition. Haaland left the pitch limping after the Ipswich match, and an ankle injury is suspected. Asked whether he would be available for the AEK game, Maresca replied that the team would "see".
Standing in competitions
In the Premier League, City lead the table with seven wins from seven matches. In the Champions League league phase, the club has one win and one defeat and sits 17th.
