Latvian rally driver Mārtiņš Sesks and co-driver Renārs Francis maintained seventh place overall after 17 stages at the ninth round of the World Rally Championship (WRC) in Estonia on Sunday, July 19.
The fastest time on the 24.39 km stage was set by Swede Oliver Solberg of the Toyota team, beating Finn Sami Pajari by 0.4 seconds and Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux (Hyundai) by 1.1 seconds. The Sesks crew recorded the eighth-fastest time, losing 11.7 seconds to Solberg.
Overall leader Sami Pajari holds a 24.6-second advantage over Solberg, with Fourmaux 52.8 seconds back. The Latvians are seventh, 2 minutes and 27.6 seconds off the lead, while sixth-placed Briton Elfyn Evans (Toyota) is 24 seconds ahead of them.
On Friday, during the shakedown, Sesks and Francis crashed into a barrier, damaging their car. The mechanics repaired it in time, but the crew left the service park two minutes late for the first stage, resulting in a 20-second penalty.
The final stage on Sunday starts at 13:15 local time, with live coverage on Go3 Sport 1. Last year, the Latvian M-Sport Ford crew finished eighth at the same event.
