Khris Middleton Returns to Washington in Six-Team Trade
A six-team trade in the NBA free agent market has sent Khris Middleton back to the Washington Wizards on a three-year, $17.6 million deal.

A major six-team trade has been completed in the NBA offseason. Veteran forward Khris Middleton, 34, has signed a three-year contract worth $17.6 million with the Washington Wizards via a sign-and-trade from the Dallas Mavericks. The deal also involves the Detroit Pistons, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers, and Milwaukee Bucks.
Middleton began last season in Washington but was traded to Dallas earlier in the season as part of a deal for Anthony Davis. Both sides expressed mutual interest in reuniting at the start of free agency.
In the deal, the Wizards send D'Angelo Russell, two second-round draft picks (2029 and 2033), and a 2032 second-round pick swap to Memphis. Dallas also sends a 2033 second-round pick to Washington along with Middleton.
Detroit sends Kersey Lever and two second-round picks to Milwaukee, receiving Taurean Prince and Gary Harris in return. Memphis acquires Isaiah Stewart and A.J. Johnson. Dallas gains Santi Aldama, Tarik Biberovic's draft rights, and Markus Sasser.
Last season, Middleton averaged 10.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 63 games. Before his stint in Washington, he played 12 seasons for Milwaukee, making three All-Star appearances and winning an NBA championship with Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2021.
The Wizards have already added Anthony Davis, Trae Young, and Deandre Ayton this offseason, and Middleton's arrival will bring additional experience and depth to the roster as they aim for a playoff spot.
