Sybiha calls on the West for 'crushing pressure' on Russia after massive attack on Kyiv
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha urged the West to immediately increase sanctions and deliver additional anti-missile defense systems following Russia's largest ballistic missile attack on Kyiv since the start of the war.

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha has called on Western countries to apply 'crushing pressure' on Russia after a night attack on Kyiv, in which he said Russia used the largest number of ballistic missiles since the start of the war – about four dozen.
In a post on X, Sybiha stressed the need for immediate action. 'We call for adequate and decisive measures. Crushing pressure must be exerted on Moscow to end this terror. There can be no pauses in strengthening sanctions and isolating Russia,' he wrote.
The minister specifically demanded the immediate unblocking of the 21st EU sanctions package and the swift fulfillment of agreements to supply additional interceptors. 'Everyone who delays the delivery of these life-saving means of defense must understand that the price of delay is measured in human lives,' Sybiha added.
He also called for no justification of Russia's war crimes, including by restoring its rights to participate in international sports competitions. 'The Kremlin ruler Vladimir Putin cannot be stopped by appeasement. He will go further if not stopped by force right now. Provide Ukraine with all necessary means to stop Russia and end the war,' the minister concluded.
On the night of July 19, Russian forces launched a massive combined attack on Ukraine with 41 missiles and 125 drones. Impacts of 23 missiles and 10 attack drones were recorded, with the main direction of the attack being Kyiv. According to the State Emergency Service, one person was killed and eight injured in Kyiv, while fires broke out in at least five districts.
