Sibiha on US-Iran Deal: Impulse for US to Intensify Peace Efforts in Ukraine
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that the US-Iran agreement is seen as an impulse and opportunity for the US to step up peace efforts to end Russian aggression against Ukraine.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has commented on the US-Iran agreement, saying that Ukraine views it as an impulse and an opportunity for the United States to intensify peace efforts aimed at ending Russian aggression against Ukraine. He made the statement on social media platform X.
Sybiha expressed hope that the agreement would serve as a solid foundation for lasting peace in the region, the guaranteed protection of human lives, and the stabilization of the global economy. He added that the entire world needs the restoration of free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz—for the sake of energy market stability, not to create new opportunities for aggressors, and to ensure freedom of navigation as one of the fundamental principles of the international order.
The minister noted that the issue of peace efforts will certainly be one of the central topics during the meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Évian. He emphasized that today, both in the Middle East and in Ukraine, one key principle applies: it is necessary to work not only on ending the war but also on securing lasting peace and preventing the recurrence of aggression in the future. Ukraine has been and remains ready to make every possible effort to achieve this goal.
It was previously reported that the signing ceremony of the peace agreement between the US and Iran will take place on June 19 in Geneva, Switzerland. US President Donald Trump earlier announced the conclusion of a peace deal with Iran and also promised the imminent reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. In this context, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and Italy have declared their readiness to support the restoration of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
