Look at Candidates' and Parties' 'Credit History', Not Slogans – Lawyer Gunārs Kusinš
Lawyer Gunārs Kusinš urges voters to assess the track record of candidates and parties rather than relying on campaign promises.

Members of parliament enter the Saeima not through backdoor channels, but through elections. Therefore, citizens should not underestimate their own right to choose the government in Latvia, but before voting, they should study not the slogans of candidates and parties, but their 'credit history' – how they have formed and changed over time. This was stated by lawyer Gunārs Kusinš in an interview with Latvijas Radio.
Kusinš emphasizes that voters should look at how candidates and parties have evolved and shifted their positions over the years. This allows for a proper assessment of their true beliefs and actions, rather than just pre-election promises. According to him, such an approach would help make a more informed decision at the ballot box.
Kusinš reminds that elections are the primary way for citizens to influence state power, so it is crucial to exercise this right responsibly. He urges the public not to fall for catchy slogans, but to analyze politicians' past performance and decisions.
