Shots have been fired in the Strait of Hormuz, creating a diplomatic and logistical conundrum. Some 11,000 crew members remain trapped on ships caught between two warring parties now negotiating peace. Each side is offering conflicting advice on how to evacuate safely.

According to France 24's Spotlight program, the situation is a "rock and a hard place" dilemma. Nitya Labh, Academy Fellow in International Security at Chatham House, provided analysis in the report.
