Spain's U16 women's national basketball team, coached by Madelena Urjeta, dominated the European Championship, winning all seven of their games by a margin of at least 38 points.

In the final, Spain took control early, building a 21:9 lead in the first quarter and never looking back. The team added roughly 10 points to its advantage in each subsequent ten-minute period, relying on aggressive defense and fast-break scoring. The final score was a lopsided 87:40.

The only game in which Spain's defense allowed more than 41 points was the semifinal against Latvia, where the opponents managed to score 53 points.

A historic achievement

This marked Spain's sixteenth appearance in the European Championship final at this age level and their twelfth title. A year earlier, Spain defeated Slovenia 62:47 in the final. The country has now amassed 20 medals in total at the cadet championships – 12 gold, four silver and four bronze.

Tournament's symbolic best-five

At the close of the tournament, organizers named the symbolic best-five, which included Latvia's Nadīne Graudiņa. She was joined by two Spanish players, Amelia Alonso and Paula Reynal, as well as Slovenia's Veronika Ferjančič and France's Kimberly N'Simba. Amelia Alonso was named the tournament's MVP.
