Russia's national anti-terrorism committee has confirmed that an explosion at a Moscow restaurant on Saturday was a bombing, according to the Tass state news agency. The blast occurred at a restaurant on Kudrinskaya Square, killing three people and injuring 21 others.

The committee said a homemade explosive device detonated at the venue. An unidentified woman who attempted to carry the device into the restaurant died in the explosion, along with a security guard and a patron.

The RIA Novosti news agency reported that the woman tried to smuggle the bomb into the establishment, but the security guard prevented her from entering before the bomb went off. The Moscow Investigative Committee stated that the attack is still under investigation.
