Grey and windy weather expected in Latvia on Sunday, coastal gusts up to 20 m/s
Latvia's Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre forecasts that the week will end with grey, windy weather. Rain will fall in the east during the day and reach Kurzeme in the evening.

The week in Latvia will end with grey and windy weather. This is the forecast of the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, the state institution that prepares weather forecasts. The forecast covers Sunday across the whole country and describes precipitation, wind strength and air temperature.
Precipitation and temperature
During the day, rain is expected mostly in the eastern districts. In the evening, a precipitation zone will approach Latvia from the west, so rain is expected in Kurzeme as well. Clouds will clear in places. Daytime air temperature will reach +10 to +13 degrees.
Wind
The wind will be moderate to fairly strong, blowing from the southeast and south. From midday it will become gusty in western and central districts. On the Baltic Sea coast, gusts may reach as much as 20 metres per second.
Weather in Riga
In the capital, Sunday will be grey, but no precipitation is expected. The wind will be light to moderate, from the southeast and south, and in the afternoon its gusts will reach 15 metres per second. The air in Riga will warm to +10 to +12 degrees.
Conditions will therefore differ across the country on Sunday: rain will fall in the east during the day, reach the west in the evening, and is not expected in Riga at all, while the strongest wind will be on the coast.
