Decisive 2026 World Cup Matches to Be Shown on Big Screen at Tallinn's Vabaduse Square
Residents and visitors of Tallinn will be able to watch key football matches together outdoors. The screenings include quarterfinals, semifinals, the third-place match and the final.

From July 10 to 19, crucial matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be broadcast on a large screen at Tallinn's Vabaduse Square. The screen measures 12 by 7 meters and will be set up in the same way as for previous public viewing events. Spectators can sit on the steps of the square or stand behind them.
Tallinn Deputy Mayor for Culture and Sports Monika Haukanõmm stated that watching major sports events together has become an important part of city life. "Watching a match on a big screen in the city center in the company of other football fans is a completely different experience from watching at home on the sofa. On these evenings, Vabaduse Square will become a place where loyal fans, people strolling through the summer city, and everyone who wants to share exciting sports emotions gather. To ensure a safe return home, we have arranged night buses on weekends and extra late services on main bus routes on weekdays until 2 a.m.," Haukanõmm said.
For convenience, temporary toilets and trash bins will be placed on the square. Organizers remind that general public conduct rules apply. The screenings will take place in any weather; in case of rain, visitors are advised to bring a raincoat, as open umbrellas obstruct the view for others.
The broadcasts will include live coverage from ETV with pre-match shows and halftime analysis. Schedule: July 10 – quarterfinal (winners of Portugal vs Spain and USA vs Belgium), broadcast from 9:30 p.m., match at 10 p.m.; July 11 – quarterfinal Norway vs England, broadcast from 11:45 p.m., match at midnight; July 14 and 15 – semifinals, broadcast from 9:30 p.m., match at 10 p.m.; July 18 – third-place match, broadcast from 11:45 p.m., match at midnight; July 19 – final, broadcast from 9:30 p.m., match at 10 p.m.
