Talsi floorball team wins in Ķekava with strong third period and moves up to second

In the Latvian men's floorball premier league, sponsored by Elvi, FK Talsi/TNSS/Krauzers beat hosts Ķekava/RB&B 4-2 (1-0, 1-1, 0-3) in Ķekava. The win lifted Talsi to second place in the table, ahead of Masters Ulbroka/LU. After nine games Talsi have 19 points, behind only Rubene.

How the game went

The only goal of the first period came in the 12th minute from Ķekava's Toms Ķeirāns. Early in the second period Jānis Ragovskis levelled the score for Talsi, but Rūdolfs Dilbergs later broke away on a counterattack to put the hosts back in front. Ķekava failed to score on a power play and is currently the worst team in the league in that area.

In the third period the visitors used their numerical advantage far better. Ragovskis set up Dilans Kronentāls for the equaliser, and a minute and a half later Aldis Banders scored from Ragovskis's pass to make it 3-2 to Talsi. In the closing minutes Ķekava replaced a player with a sixth outfield attacker. Talsi were given two penalties, including one to player-coach Artis Raitums, leaving them with three players against six. Even so, Ragovskis intercepted the ball and scored on a counterattack to seal the win.
