Woman caught stealing perfume in Tartu

A 38-year-old woman stole perfume worth €670 in a Tartu shopping centre and returned hours later to attempt another theft, which was thwarted by a security guard.

On 12 June, police were called to a shopping centre in Tartu, where a 38-year-old woman had stolen various perfumes totalling €670. A few hours later, she returned to the same store with the intention of committing another theft. However, a security guard intervened and prevented the second theft. The stolen goods were returned to the store undamaged. The woman was detained as a suspect. The incident is under investigation. The Lõuna Prefecture press service reported that authorities have sufficient evidence to initiate criminal proceedings.
