Exhibition of portraits of TV hosts opens at Television House for ETV's 71st anniversary
The exhibition 'Pixel and Brush' by artist Gunta Randla features portraits of beloved television personalities and other celebrities.

To mark the 71st anniversary of Estonian Television (ETV), an exhibition by theatre and TV artist Gunta Randla titled 'Pixel and Brush' ('Piksli ja pintsliga') has opened at the Television House (Telemaja) in Tallinn.
Randla has created portraits of TV hosts beloved by viewers and other well-known figures. 'After a long break from working in television, I felt that I missed interacting with people again. People – their essence, energy, and individuality – became the starting point for this exhibition,' said Randla.
The works on display employ mixed media, combining photography, digital techniques, canvas printing, and painting. Randla explained that she became fascinated by the question of how to depict a person so that their gaze, liveliness, and presence are preserved. For the digital part, she was assisted by Viivi Jokk.
On the walls of the Television House, visitors can recognize Randla's self-portrait, as well as images of Mati Talvik, Reet Linna, Maire Aunaste, Piret Viisimaa, and Marko Soosaare. 'These are not just portraits. Each painting is my personal encounter with a person, an attempt to capture more than external similarity. I paint not only faces, but also how I see and feel the person,' Randla added. She noted that the world of television is full of talented and inspiring people.
