Tesla Expands Robotaxi Service to Small Section of Miami
Tesla has launched its robotaxi service in a small area of West Miami, initially available outside the city center. The service operates without safety monitors in vehicles, a feature that previously sparked controversy.

Tesla has expanded its autonomous robotaxi service to a small section of West Miami, marking the third US city to receive the service after Dallas and Houston. As with previous rollouts, the initial availability in Miami is limited to areas outside the busy downtown core.
Videos circulating on social media show Tesla robotaxis operating without a safety monitor inside the vehicle, a feature that was controversial when the company first introduced the service in Austin, Texas. Last month, Tesla expanded the service to the entire Austin metro area, suggesting a similar expansion could occur in Miami.
Miami already hosts Waymo's autonomous robotaxis, which launched in January. Meanwhile, Zoox is planning a Miami expansion and has begun testing with its employees. Tesla's roadmap includes future robotaxi launches in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Orlando, and Tampa, among other US cities.
For now, the service is limited to a small geographic area, but the company's history of gradual expansion indicates broader coverage in the future.
