Court rejects Stefanishyna's appeal against 6 million hryvnia bail
The Appeals Chamber of Ukraine's High Anti-Corruption Court upheld a 6 million hryvnia bail order against former deputy prime minister Olha Stefanishyna. The bail has already been paid.

The Appeals Chamber of Ukraine's High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) on August 20 rejected the defense's appeal and upheld an investigating judge's August 6 ruling imposing a preventive measure of 6 million hryvnia bail on former Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and former Ukrainian ambassador to the US, Olha Stefanishyna.
The ruling took legal effect immediately upon announcement and cannot be appealed further through cassation.
The bail has already been paid. According to Ukrainska Pravda, the 6 million hryvnia was covered by the law firm "Illyashev and Partners." Stefanishyna, as a suspect, has been placed under several procedural obligations, including appearing when summoned by detectives, prosecutors and the court, reporting any change of residence, and refraining from contact with a specified circle of people.
Nature of the suspicions
According to investigators, Stefanishyna is suspected of illicit enrichment and declaring false information (under Article 366-2, part 2, and Article 368-5 of Ukraine's Criminal Code).
Investigators allege that Stefanishyna failed to declare two apartments in Kyiv, renovation costs for them, rental housing, use of a Mercedes-Benz, and payments for airline tickets and her mother's medical treatment. Stefanishyna has previously stated she does not have such funds.
The preventive measure was initially imposed on August 6, when HACC first examined the illicit enrichment and false declaration case.
