Tjumins Places 33rd in Junior Nations Cup Second Stage
Latvian junior cyclist Georgs Tjumins finished 33rd in the second stage of the Nations Cup in France, a 113 km race with 1480 meters of elevation gain.

In the second stage, held in France, cyclists covered 113 kilometers with 1480 meters of elevation gain. The demanding start of the route on French roads proved challenging. Latvian juniors were active and visible early on, but the steep and long climbs gradually split the peloton. Among the Latvian juniors, only Georgs Tjumins remained at the front.
The decisive breakaway, consisting of two Dutch and one Norwegian rider, took place without Tjumins. The leaders built a lead of nearly a minute by the finish, with Dutchman Liam Brugmans taking the win. Tjumins lost 59 seconds and finished in the first group behind the breakaway, securing 33rd place.
The race continues on Saturday with two stages: a 10-kilometer individual time trial in the morning, followed by a 93-kilometer group race. This year, the Latvian team includes six riders: Georgs Tjumins, Helvijs Kancers, Alvis Pivors, Toms Strēlis, Ričards Hansons, and Haralds Strādnieks. A total of 126 riders from 17 national teams and four clubs are competing.
