Tjumins finishes 33rd in second stage of Junior Nations Cup road race
Latvian junior cyclist Georgs Tjumins placed 33rd in the second stage of the Junior Nations Cup held in France on Saturday.

The second stage covered a distance of 113 kilometers with 1,480 meters of elevation gain. The early part of the route, winding through French roads, proved particularly demanding. Latvian riders were again active and visible at the start, but the steep, long climbs gradually split the peloton. From the Latvian junior team, only Tjumins remained in the front group.
The decisive breakaway occurred without Tjumins, featuring two Dutch riders and one Norwegian. By the finish, the leaders had built a lead of nearly one minute. The stage was won by Dutchman Liam Brugmans. Tjumins crossed the line 59 seconds down, finishing in the first chasing group behind the breakaway.
The race continues on Saturday with two stages: a 10-kilometer individual time trial in the morning, followed by a 93-kilometer road race. Latvia's junior squad this year consists of six riders: Georgs Tjumins, Helvijs Kancers, Alvis Pivors, Toms Strēlis, Ričards Hansons, and Haralds Strādnieks. In total, 126 riders from 17 national teams and four clubs are competing.
