Fatal ATV Accident in Saldus Region; Driver Killed, Passenger Injured
On Monday evening, an ATV overturned in Saldus region, killing the driver and injuring the passenger. Over the past 24 hours, Latvia recorded 117 road accidents with 11 injured people.

The State Police reported that on Monday evening in Zaņas parish, Saldus region, a man born in 1968 lost control of his ATV, which overturned. The driver died at the scene. The passenger sustained injuries and received medical assistance.
In total, over the past 24 hours (from 6:30 AM on January 28 to 6:30 AM on January 29), Latvia registered 117 road traffic accidents. These accidents injured 11 people, among them two pedestrians, one cyclist, and two electric scooter riders.
Regional breakdown shows that in the Riga region, 51 accidents occurred, injuring five people – including two pedestrians and one e-scooter rider. Zemgale recorded 21 accidents with no injuries. In Kurzeme, 18 accidents left four people injured (one of them died), including one cyclist. Vidzeme had 18 accidents, injuring one e-scooter rider. Latgale reported nine accidents with one injured person.
