Former US President Donald Trump has once again voiced his disappointment with the NATO alliance, stating during a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that he is "very disappointed with NATO."
When asked about progress among European allies in increasing defense spending, Trump remarked that if the summit were not being held in Turkey, he would likely not have attended, referring to Erdogan as a "very strong leader."
He also criticized NATO allies for their lack of support during the war against Iran, saying the US was not treated well. Trump reiterated that the United States does not need assistance from anyone, while questioning why Washington has spent trillions of dollars to defend Europe against Russia without receiving anything in return.
