Tallinn Airport Tramline to Reopen on August 1 After Successful Test
The Tallinn city council announced that the tramline to the airport will resume on August 1 after a successful test run, with minor deficiencies to be fixed before the reopening.

The Tallinn city council has announced that the tramline connecting the city center with the airport is expected to resume service on August 1, following a successful test run earlier this week. During the test on July 9, minor deficiencies were identified, which will be rectified by the end of the month.
Tallinn's Deputy Mayor for Transport, Joel Jesse, emphasized the importance of ensuring the new tram route is safe and ready for regular scheduled traffic. "The airport tram route is passable and the contact network is functional. This gives us the assumption that we will be able to open the tram connection to Ülemiste and the airport as planned from August 1," he said.
Starting August 1, two tram lines will serve the airport: T2 (Kopli – Old Town – Airport) and T4 (Tondi – Airport). The airport tram connection was suspended in 2023 due to the construction of the Vanasadam tram line and later the Ülemiste train terminal.
