Injury-hit Bayern Munich look to survive Atletico test in Madrid in Champions League
In round four of the UEFA Champions League, Atletico Madrid host Bayern Munich tonight. The German side are struggling with injuries and will not have head coach Vincent Kompany on the bench.

In the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League, Europe's top club football competition, Atletico Madrid host Bayern Munich on 3 November. Kick-off is at 22:00 Latvian time, and the match is broadcast live on the Go3 Extra Sports platform. After three rounds of the league phase, both sides sit in the middle of the table: Bayern are 14th with four points, Atletico 16th with three.
Atletico's route to this match
The Spanish club, coached by Diego Simeone, began the season with a 2–1 loss to England's Liverpool and then beat Manchester United 2–0. In the previous round they drew 1–1 with Stuttgart.
Bayern's dropped points
The German side opened the competition with a 5–0 win over Norway's Bodo/Glimt, but drew their next two games: 3–3 with Norway's Viking and 2–2 with the English champions. They also drew 2–2 with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, the German league, where Michael Olise, Serge Gnabry and Ismael Saibari had to leave the pitch injured.
Squad problems
Besides Olise, Jamal Musiala, Luis Diaz, Jonas Urbig and Manuel Neuer are also on the injury list. There is hope that Olise, Urbig and Neuer could be fit for the game. If neither goalkeeper can play, 38-year-old Sven Ulreich will start in goal. Head coach Vincent Kompany will not lead the team because of health problems; Aaron Danks will take charge instead.
Atletico are likely to welcome back captain Koke, and defender Cristian Romero was in the squad for the previous LaLiga match. Johnny Cardoso is unavailable, while Morten Hjulmand misses this game through suspension after a red card against Stuttgart.
