Trump repeats claim that Israel 'would no longer exist' without him

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday repeated his earlier claim that without his actions to halt Iran's nuclear program, Israel would no longer exist today. The remarks were cited by CBS News and reported by Ukrainska Pravda via Yevropeiska Pravda.
Trump said he was confident that without his intervention, Iran would have acquired nuclear weapons and used them, leaving Israel completely neutralized. He stated that had he not been president, Israel would already be gone.
Criticism of the Obama-era deal
The American president once again criticized the nuclear agreement reached with Iran under the Obama administration. Trump recalled that during his first term he unilaterally withdrew the United States from the deal, arguing that it had paved the way for Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.
He had made similar comments earlier at the G7 summit in France.
Tensions with Netanyahu
In recent months, relations between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have grown more strained. Points of friction include Netanyahu's stance on a so-called "historic agreement" for disarming Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the presence of Israeli forces in Lebanese territory, and the continuation of military action against Iran and its proxy forces at a time when Washington had hoped for a peace agreement.
