Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna (Eesti 200) stated that he cannot predict what theses US President Donald Trump will present at the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara, scheduled for July 7–8. According to him, after the recent leaders' meeting in The Hague, no one can confidently foresee the American leader's signals.

"Today we are in a situation where no one can accurately predict what messages Donald Trump will deliver this time," Tsahkna said in an interview with Delfi.

The minister emphasized that ahead of the meeting, allies have conducted serious diplomatic work. In particular, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte discussed increasing European defense spending with the US side in Washington. Additionally, several bilateral contacts have taken place in recent days, including talks between the German foreign minister and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

According to the Estonian politician, there are no objective reasons to expect shocks, although the White House always retains an element of surprise: "I see no reason to expect dramatic events. But with Donald Trump, of course, one can never completely rule anything out."

Speaking about the summit's goals, the minister emphasized that for Estonia, the main criterion for success will be maintaining a strong signal of NATO unity, further strengthening European defense capabilities, and keeping Ukraine among the key issues on the alliance's agenda.
