Little precipitation expected in Latvia over the coming week, with icing possible on roads
Forecasters say an anticyclone will bring very little precipitation to Latvia next week, with rain more likely on the coast. From Tuesday winds will strengthen, and some roads may ice over at night.

Weather in Latvia over the coming week will be shaped by an anticyclone, so precipitation will be scarce and rain is more likely along the coast, forecasters say. The outlook matters for drivers, as icing is possible on some road sections during the night and morning hours.
Weekend and Monday
This weekend and on Monday the skies will mostly be cloudy. Brief rain, drizzle and fog are possible in places. Winds will be light, and in some spots there will be no wind at all.
Across most of the country, morning temperatures will range from 0 to +6 degrees and midday temperatures from +5 to +9 degrees. Saturday should be about one degree warmer.
From Tuesday
Starting Tuesday, winds from the west and north will blow from light to strong. Skies will clear more often, with occasional brief precipitation. Icing may occur on individual road sections at night and in the morning.
On some nights temperatures will fall below zero in places, most often in the eastern part of the country. On the warmest days the air will reach +6 to +11 degrees.
Six-week outlook
According to the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, temperature and precipitation in Latvia over the next six weeks will on average be close to normal. Only the first week of November is expected to be markedly drier.
