Uģis Joksts, a sports news anchor for Latvian Television and host of the erudition game "V.I.P", has set a serious goal for this summer – to shed at least ten kilograms to achieve an ideal physical condition. In an interview with the magazine "Privātā Dzīve", he states that a real man starts at 85 kilograms, not 100.
Joksts admits that his extra weight comes from his love for good food. "Delicious meals are my weakness, so sometimes it's hard to refuse an extra portion," he says. He emphasizes that after age 40, excess weight begins in the kitchen, so one must be more careful about what goes on the plate.
To reach his goal, Joksts has resumed gym workouts. Running also plays a significant role in his life – he has already run about ten marathons in various parts of the world. "Physically, a person can accomplish a lot; all limits are only in our mind," Joksts concludes.
