Drone Flight Ban Imposed Over Fire Site on Kārļa Ulmaņa Street
Latvian State Police have restricted drone flights above the fire site on Kārļa Ulmaņa Street to avoid interfering with rescue operations. The blaze engulfed a 3,500-square-meter warehouse, forcing the evacuation of nearly 400 people.

The State Police of Latvia have imposed a drone flight restriction zone above the fire site on Kārļa Ulmaņa Street. The decision was made to prevent disruption of ongoing emergency response operations. The restriction is based on the Aviation Law, and its duration may be extended if necessary.
The police remind that unmanned aerial vehicles must not interfere with state institutions’ actions related to emergency response and consequence mitigation. Flights over accident, incident, or fire sites are only permitted after coordination with the incident commander. Additionally, the police urge residents to comply with the restrictions and will monitor drone activity in the area closely.
As previously reported, a fire broke out on Tuesday evening in a warehouse-type building covering 3,500 square meters on Kārļa Ulmaņa Street. Approximately 200 people evacuated the burning building, and another 180 were evacuated from surrounding buildings. Firefighting efforts continued for an extended period.
