Ukraine's Ministry of Defence has officially confirmed that Ukrainian defence forces struck a logistics hub belonging to the Russian retail company Ozon in the city of Chapaevsk, Samara region. The ministry said this marks the start of a campaign against Ozon's logistics facilities as well.

Previous strikes on Wildberries hubs

The ministry recalled that Ukrainian units had previously hit 15 of the largest logistics hubs belonging to another Russian retailer, Wildberries. Ozon's turn has now come, the ministry said. It stressed that systematic strikes on storage centers for goods, including dual-use items, complicate the enemy's logistics and negatively affect the Russian economy as a whole.

Company confirms the attack

Ozon itself has confirmed that its logistics center in the Samara region came under drone attack. Earlier, Russian media and social networks reported that Ukrainian defence forces had, for the first time, successfully struck the Ozon logistics hub in Chapaevsk overnight into August 22, causing a large fire at the site.
