Ukraine Brings Home 160 Soldiers After Four Years in Russian Captivity
In a new exchange, Ukraine secured the release of 160 soldiers who had been held since 2022. Among the freed are defenders of Mariupol and the Azovstal plant.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the latest prisoner exchange, bringing back 160 Ukrainian soldiers. All had been in captivity since 2022. The Coordination Headquarters stated this is the 76th exchange and is a combined one. The released include servicemen from the Armed Forces, National Guard, State Special Transport Service, and Border Guards. They defended Ukraine in Mariupol and at Azovstal, as well as on the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy fronts. Among them are 115 defenders of Mariupol. The group includes 58 officers. The youngest is 26, the oldest 66. All freed will undergo medical examinations, receive necessary treatment, financial payments, and documents, and proceed to rehabilitation. To date, the Coordination Headquarters has returned 9,606 military and civilian Ukrainians from captivity.
