A drone that carries other drones
The KARA's standout feature is its ability to act as a "ferry" for smaller FPV (first-person-view) drones, carrying them deep behind Russian lines before releasing them to continue their mission. This effectively extends the operational range of FPV drones, allowing them to reach targets farther than they could fly on their own power.
Additional roles
Beyond ferrying FPV drones, KARA is designed to perform several other tasks. It can drop bombs on targets, function as a signal relay to strengthen communication between operators and other elements of a drone unit, and also be used directly to strike targets itself.
Availability and pricing
KARA is now listed for sale on Ukraine's state-run electronic marketplace used for procuring military equipment. Its relatively low price of about $9,900 makes it more accessible than many specialized single-purpose systems.
Ukraine has spent years expanding its domestically produced drone arsenal for use against Russian forces. Multi-role platforms that combine several capabilities into one device help units make more efficient use of limited resources and reduce logistical strain along the front line.
