Ukraine's military neutralizes 1,480 more Russian occupiers in past day
Ukraine's General Staff reports that 1,480 Russian troops were put out of action over the past day, bringing Russia's total personnel losses since the start of the full-scale invasion to more than 1.47 million.

Ukraine's Armed Forces General Staff reported on August 20 that Ukrainian defense forces neutralized 1,480 Russian soldiers over the previous 24 hours. This brings Russia's total personnel losses since the full-scale invasion began on February 24, 2022, to approximately 1,472,640 troops.
Equipment losses
According to the General Staff, Russian forces also lost significant amounts of armored vehicles and other military equipment over the past day. Seven tanks were destroyed or damaged, bringing the total to 12,283 tanks since the war began. Losses of combat armored vehicles rose by three to a total of 25,165 units.
Russian artillery system losses increased by 56 over the day, reaching a total of 48,261 units, while losses of multiple rocket launcher systems grew by seven to 2,050 units.
The General Staff also noted losses in other equipment categories: the number of destroyed ground robotic systems rose by 10 to 2,321 units, while losses of operational-tactical level drones increased by 1,672 over the day, reaching 470,869 units.
Additionally, 500 vehicles and fuel tankers were reported destroyed or damaged, bringing the total to 136,818 units, and three units of special equipment were lost, raising that total to 4,551 units.
