Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk Focuses on Defense and Postwar Reconstruction
The two-day Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk brought together defense firms, policymakers, and investors to discuss Ukraine's postwar recovery and long-term security, with emphasis on defense cooperation and European integration.

The Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC), held in Gdańsk on June 25–26, was co-hosted by Ukraine and Poland. Participants included defense companies, industrial suppliers, and construction firms, reflecting both military and civilian needs.
Representatives highlighted the importance of networking and cooperation. Anna Liashenko of Dnipropetrovsk Tube Company said the event was an opportunity to present themselves, exchange contacts, and build connections. Her company manufactures special tubes for aircraft, engines, and space engines.
Pharmaxi CEO Yurii Lebid noted that the conference brings together successful companies and influential people who can help introduce new technologies in Ukraine and Europe. Nord Strike board member Arnoldas Anelauskas added that the goal is to open EU markets for Ukrainian firms, allowing them to sell high-tech products in Europe.
Defsecintel Solutions Vice President Jaan Hein stressed that postwar planning is necessary now to avoid "war fatigue." He urged thinking about "the day after" and coordinating efforts today.
International Renaissance Foundation Executive Director Oleksander Sushko said the conference connects three interconnected issues: how to win the war while maintaining resilience, how to rebuild, and how to facilitate EU accession.
Ukrainian defense firms showcased various technologies, including drones used against Russian energy infrastructure. Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna noted that defense industry cooperation is finally becoming part of reconstruction planning. The next URC will be held in Estonia in January.
