Ukraine expands drone strikes to warehouses of Russian marketplace Ozon

Since late August, Ukrainian forces have broadened the scope of drone strikes inside Russia to include logistics facilities operated by the online marketplace Ozon. At least eight such incidents have been recorded across different regions since August 22.

First strikes

On August 22, a logistics center in Chapaevsk, Samara region, became the first Ozon warehouse hit. The strike sparked a fire that injured several people, according to the company. The facility suspended operations for an indefinite period, and the fire was not fully extinguished until two days later.

The following day, August 23, an attack on a warehouse in the Orenburg region also caused a fire, though no injuries were reported. That facility likewise halted operations temporarily.

Attacks continue

On August 24, strikes hit several locations in a single day. In Makhachkala, Dagestan, a fire following a drone attack forced Ozon's logistics center to stop working, with the company reporting injuries. In the village of Enem near Krasnodar, in the Adygea region, a major fire broke out at another warehouse, halting its operations. That same night, Ozon evacuated a separate warehouse in Adygeysk due to a drone threat, though the building and its goods were undamaged. A similar evacuation took place at a facility in Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Krai, which also reported no damage.

On August 27, further incidents were reported. A logistics facility in Ufa, Bashkortostan, sustained minor damage and was temporarily closed for inspection. The same night, employees were evacuated from an Orenburg region facility over a drone threat, though the warehouse resumed operations shortly after. It remains unclear whether this was the same site struck on August 23.
