Ukrainian drones struck several targets in Russia overnight into Sunday, October 25, killing three people in the Belgorod region, in the country's southwest on the border with Ukraine, and damaging an industrial site in the Perm region in the Ural Mountains. The attacks come amid Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, in which both sides continue to strike targets across the border.

Belgorod region

Belgorod regional governor Alexander Shuvayev said an attack in the city of Belgorod itself killed two people and injured 13. By his account, 30 apartment blocks, 35 cars, four houses, three administrative buildings, eight commercial premises and three social facilities were damaged. Another person was killed and one injured in a village near the town of Shebekino, local authorities said.

Perm region

Perm regional governor Dmitry Makhonin said a drone attack damaged an industrial facility and injured five of its workers. Emergency services were at the scene, and the injured received the necessary medical help. He made the statement on the state-backed messaging app MAX and did not give further detail on the nature of the damage.

Strikes reported by Russia

Russia's Defense Ministry said its drones hit a cargo vessel bound for the Black Sea port of Chornomorsk during the overnight attack, claiming the ship was being used to supply the Ukrainian army. Russian forces also struck a logistics center, a distribution center and a logistics terminal in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, which the ministry said were used to store and distribute dual-use cargo for the Ukrainian military.

Reuters said it could not independently verify the information provided by the Defense Ministry.
