Ukraine's Prosecutor General Names NABU Director a Suspect
Ukraine's Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko has signed a notice of suspicion against Semen Kryvonos, head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), accusing anti-corruption bodies of seizing case files against their own leadership. A person linked to the anti-corruption prosecutor's chief was also named a suspect.
Ukraine's Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko announced that he has signed an official notice of suspicion against Semen Kryvonos, director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU). According to Kravchenko, NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) seized materials from criminal proceedings targeting their own leadership during searches conducted as part of a special operation called "Carthage."
The Prosecutor General stated that Kryvonos allegedly forged documents in order to obtain an unlawful benefit on an especially large scale.
Second suspect named
Kravchenko also reported a notice of suspicion issued to a person described as close to SAPO head Oleksandr Klymenko. That individual is accused of influencing the head of the High Anti-Corruption Court, offering him an unlawful benefit, and helping someone evade military mobilization.
The Prosecutor General further claimed that a coordinated information campaign is being waged against his office.
