Ukrainian air defence destroys or jams 140 Russian drones overnight
Ukraine's Air Force says 140 of the 176 drones Russia launched on the night of 22-23 October were destroyed or jammed. As of 08:00 the attack was still ongoing.

Ukraine's Air Force reported that on the night of 22-23 October, Ukrainian air defence units destroyed or jammed 140 of the 176 drones that Russian forces launched at Ukraine during the ongoing war. The figures are current as of 08:00 in the morning.
Which drones were downed
The Air Force said the drones included Shahed-type models, 68 of them jet-powered, as well as Gerbera and other types. No more detailed breakdown by type was given.
Hits and debris
Hits by aerial weapons were recorded at 19 locations, while debris from downed drones fell at 13 locations. The report did not say what was damaged or whether there were casualties.
Attack still under way
At the time of the Air Force update, the Russian attack had not finished. Ten attack drones remained in Ukrainian airspace as of 08:00. The final tally could therefore change as the Air Force continues to track them.
