Ukraine's forces neutralize 1,490 Russian occupiers in latest 24-hour period
Ukraine's General Staff reports that 1,490 Russian troops were neutralized over the past day, along with 68 artillery systems and 554 vehicles. Russia's total losses since the start of the full-scale invasion are approaching 1.48 million troops.

Ukraine's Armed Forces General Staff has released updated figures on Russian military losses since the full-scale invasion began on 24 February 2022. According to the report, Ukrainian defense forces neutralized 1,490 Russian occupation troops over the past 24 hours, while also destroying or damaging 68 artillery systems and 554 vehicles and fuel tankers.
Total losses since the war began
According to the General Staff, as of 24 August 2026, Russia's total personnel losses since 24 February 2022 reached approximately 1,478,070 troops — an increase of 1,490 over the previous day.
Other reported losses include:
- tanks – 12,293 units (+1)
- armored combat vehicles – 25,211 units (+9)
- artillery systems – 48,519 units (+68)
- multiple launch rocket systems – 2,056 units (+2)
- air defense systems – 1,586 units (+1)
- ground robotic systems – 2,368 units (+16)
- operational-tactical level drones – 478,327 units (+1,761)
- vehicles and fuel tankers – 138,773 units (+554)
- special equipment – 4,575 units (+6)
The Ukrainian side notes that these figures reflect the General Staff's operational estimates of enemy personnel and equipment losses since the war began.
