According to the project, the 8th Regiment operated in the coastal tactical direction as part of Russia's "Dnepr" troop grouping.
A defector since 2014
Isayev was born in Mykolaiv and had served in Ukraine's Armed Forces since 1992. The platform states that in 2014, while serving as chief of staff and first deputy commander of the 406th separate coastal artillery brigade group under the Ukrainian Navy's Coastal Defense Forces Center, he committed an act of state treason and defected to the enemy side. He was then appointed chief of staff and deputy commander of the 8th Artillery Regiment of Russia's Black Sea Fleet 22nd Army Corps.
Return to service and death
Isayev was discharged to the reserve in 2015 but returned to service in his former post in October 2022, taking part in the armed aggression against Ukraine. In September 2024 he was appointed commander of the 8th Artillery Regiment and promoted to the rank of colonel. He was killed in the Kherson region by a Ukrainian drone strike.
