Russian officials said on Sunday, October 25, that Ukrainian drone and missile attacks killed four people in the southwestern Russian regions of Belgorod and Lipetsk. A separate drone attack damaged an industrial facility in the Perm region in the Ural Mountains. The strikes came amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, in which both sides continue to hit targets on each other's territory.

Belgorod and Lipetsk

In the city of Belgorod, close to the Ukrainian border, two people were killed and 13 injured overnight, regional governor Alexander Shuvayev said. He said 30 apartment blocks, 35 cars, four houses, three administrative buildings, eight commercial premises and three social facilities were damaged. One more person was killed and one injured in a village near the town of Shebekino.

Later in the day, Lipetsk region governor Igor Artamonov said a Ukrainian missile strike on an industrial zone in the city of Yelets killed a security guard and injured a paramedic. The guard worked at one of the facilities on the site, while the paramedic was taken to hospital. The governor did not say which facility was hit.

Perm region

Perm region governor Dmitry Makhonin said on the state-backed MAX messaging app that a drone attack damaged an industrial facility and injured five of its workers. Emergency services were at the scene, and the injured received necessary medical help. He gave no detail on the nature of the damage.

Russian Defense Ministry claims

Russia's Defense Ministry said its drones struck a cargo vessel bound for the Ukrainian Black Sea port of Chornomorsk, saying the ship was being used to supply the Ukrainian army. It also said Russian forces hit a logistics center, a distribution center and a logistics terminal in Kharkiv, which it said were used to store and distribute dual-use cargo for the Ukrainian military.

Reuters could not independently verify the ministry's information. Ukraine made no immediate comment.
